TherapTea Mood Match

When you're carrying too much weight...

Some days pile everything on at once. Let this cup interrupt the loop.

Uva — The Wind-Swept Cleanser

I've spent hot afternoons in the Uva highlands watching dry, wild Cachan winds whip across the tea fields. These tough conditions force the leaves to concentrate their aromatic oils, giving the tea a sharp, clean, almost minty flavor. It is my go-to brew when my head is spinning and everything feels too loud.

The Science Behind the Brew

When my schedule gets chaotic, I turn to Uva. The brisk, minty steam cuts straight through the noise, breaking the stress cycle before you even take your first sip.

1

Minty aromatics instantly redirect an overactive mind.

2

Brisk, refreshing texture helps release physical tension in the jaw.

3

Sustained warming effect helps lower physical heart rates.

4

The brewing process gives you a built-in, peaceful moment to rest.

The Alchemical Recipe

Measurements, water temperature, and steeping timeline tailored to unlock active Ceylon terroir polyphenols.

Ingredients

1 tsp whole-leaf Uva black tea
220ml fresh spring water at 95°C
1 fresh mint leaf (slapped to wake up oils)

Brewing Guide

1

Bring fresh water to 95°C. Swirl some in your mug to pre-warm the ceramic, then discard it.

2

Add the Uva leaves to your pot. Pour in the 220ml of hot water and cover immediately.

3

Steep for exactly 2 minutes (start the timer on the left), letting the monsoonal minty oils bloom.

4

Strain into your mug, slap the fresh mint leaf between your palms to release active oils, drop it in, and let sit for 1 minute before drinking.

The Mindful Ritual

The Wind & Steam (Sulanga Ritual)

A somatic practice to ground your nervous system while the warm tea steeps and cools.

Step 1

While the Uva tea steeps, sit upright and cup your hands around the warm mug, letting the rising steam pool around your face.

Step 2

Close your eyes. Inhale the intense, minty-eucalyptus steam for 4 seconds, hold your breath for 4, and exhale slowly for 6.

Step 3

Repeat this breath cycle three times, visualising the hot dry winds of the Uva valley clearing away the mental clutter with each exhale.
